bioformconsult has been founded in 2024 by Wolfgang Arthofer. He received his PhD in biotechnology at the Boku University in Vienna and afterwards worked as postdoctoral scientist and assistant professor at the Boku, the Austrian Research Centre for Forests, and the Innsbruck University. After his academic career he became bioinformatician in the private sector in Austria. Wolfgang has published ca 100 scientific papers in the field of molecular biology.

bioformconsult provides most IT based services needed for genetic and biological data analysis. We operate an own high performance computing infrastructure and are happy to serve orders all around the world. Furthermore, we provide scientific proofreading for paper submissions, grant applications, and academic publications written in English.

Our main target group are academic, private, and governmental institutions and individuals that are handling biological data but are lacking experienced bioinformaticians and/or suitable data processing infrastructue. Especially if an institution has to perform such tasks only occasonally, outsourcing will be more cost efficient than investing in own computing infrastructure and personel. We will check your tasks and interests carefully and make individualized, reasonably priced quotes.

We do not have an own wetlab, but several highly qualified partners at hand that perform wetlab tasks for us on contract base. Thus, we can also provide PCR and Sanger validation of our results if need be.
